Snowy owl

My mum and I ordered a calendar of my photos from Sanpfish for my grandma. I'm not one to boast, but my photos looked so nice in print!

Those who know me, I can order one for you if you want*. It costs £16.98. It's made with really good quality thick paper and can be personalised with special dates (e.g. birthdays).

*Those who don't know me might be able to arrange to buy one.

Hospital blinds

For privacy reasons, you're not supposed to take photos in the hospital, but I was told that because I had a room to myself (not for long though), I could use my phone so I thought that firing off a few quick shots in a room on my own wouldn't do anyone any harm. By the time this photo is posted, I should be much better!

Moon jellyfish (dead)

Hundreds of jellyfish were washed ashore in Northumberland during heavy weather in September. Most of them seemed to be moon jellyfish like these. Moon jellyfish are harmless to humans.

This photo makes me think of a French château, but it's actually another view of Lindisfarne castle.

Longstone Lighthouse

Longstone Island, Northumberland

This is the lighthouse from which Grace Darling and her father launched their small fishing coble to rescue the remaining members of the crew of the wrecked Forfarshire during a storm in 1838. It is an incredible story and well worth reading about.

Grace Darling was 22 years old when she risked her life in an open boat to help the survivors of the wrecked SS Forfarshire on 7 September 1838. With her father, she rowed for over a mile through raging seas to reach them. The courage that Grace and her family showed on that day is now legendary.

If you ever have the chance to see the actual fishing coble which Grace had to keep still on the very rough sea, you realise how much strength, skill and courage she must have had. It is certainly very awe-inspiring.

I spilled the paint!

I dropped the paint bucket down the cliff...

Actually, Wikipedia informs me that they are calcium carbide deposits. I thought it was rather a lot for bird droppings, even during nesting season!
